I got the chance last summer to work on a very unusual and interesting show called "Married by Mom & Dad" for TLC & Think Factory. For about a month in the sweltering July heat of Charleston South Carolina I produced and directed the Christina Rollyson's story along with Executive Producer Katie Mohs & Associate Producer Kevin Chagon. Christina and her family are truly amazing people and I was very lucky to get to know them and work with them.
Here is a clip from the show and an article from PEOPLE -TV WATCH Aaron Couch @AaronCouch Introducing your significant other to your parents can be stressful enough – but what happens when that process is turned on its head? Ex-Michigan State football player Brett is finding that out firsthand in an exclusive sneak peek at TLC's new series Married by Mom and Dad, which allows parents to chose a spouse for their children. He's got to impress the parents of Christina Rollyson, a West Virginia native who recently started her own travel agency. Christina's father Derald is impressed that Brett played football and has confidence, but her mother Becky wonders why the potential husband hasn't settled down yet. "We're serious about this, and we're looking for the exact, right person for Christina," Becky tells him, noting that Brett said he wanted to get married since he was 22. "Obviously you're a lot older now, so what happened?" Brett explains that school, including pursuing a PhD, as well as business pursuits had prevented him from giving his all to a relationship, but he's ready to settle down now that he has the means to provide for a family. Christina's parents show Brett a picture of their daughter, and he compliments her smile and calls her a "very pretty girl." Then the big question, from Dad: "Are you ready to go to the altar with that girl you just saw?" Just wrapped up on a new 10 episode documentary series featuring NXT wrestlers as they try to make the main roster of the WWE. I basically moved to Orlando for about 8 weeks immersing myself into the wild world of wrestling.

Chris Bavelles Photography Sample Slide Show - By Stacey Leigh Came across this amazing story written by Stacey Leigh - of the most crowded place on earth - a tiny Caribbean island off the cost of Colombia.
Two hours off the coast of Cartagena, Colombia, and you'll hit the island of Santa Cruz del Islote in the Caribbean Sea, nestled in the archipelago of San Bernardo. It's a small island, a little less than two and a half acres, but you'll notice something very unusual about it. With a population of 1,200 people, the island is more densely populated than the borough of Manhattan in New York City. 90 houses, a school and three businesses-- a restaurant and two stores-- call Santa Cruz del Islote home. It's a relatively new island, discovered 150 years ago by fishermen coming in from Baru. Most of the locals work in the neighboring Caribbean islands, commuting by ferry. Many of them have jobs on charter boats that offer fishing, snorkeling and diving tours for visitors. Several supplement their income by providing Colombian restaurants with fish. Since space is at such premium, many of the buildings lean out over the water. The only empty outdoor yard place for socializing is a courtyard at the center of the island. There's no running water on the island, so the Colombian Navy delivers potable water every month. The Colombian government also provides the town's only security, a guard stationed at Santa Cruz del Islote's school, as dictated by ColomAlthough Colombia suffers high crime, corruption, and violence rates, Santa Cruz del Islote sees no crime. The great-grandson of one of the island founders, describes it, "We don't have violence, we don't need police, we all know each other and we enjoy our days. It's a glorious life. #Inspiring #Island #Caribbean #Colombia #Wimp |
