I couldn't be happier. after 3 months of not making tv... and a million replies to every site/ posting/ cold emailing/ and Facebooking contacts...out of the blue someone i love working with sought me out. back to what i do best working for one of the very best and at the title i have been striving for for years. 2013 look out. when one door closes... blow the fuggin WALL DOWN! and the job is around the corner. the only thing you really own in life is your REPUTATION and your SKILL SET.... everything else is beyond your control and even having great skills and a good rep does not mean you get to put them to use. the world of freelance has it's challenges. i thank everything out there for the simple fact that in a time like now -- in a place like this -- i get to do what i do best and can exhale. 15 years of contracting a new show/gig/job every few months... makes you tough and strong and thankful SO HAPPY!! again -- self reliance. I just got a new directing job on a great show for a wonderful company. Obviously I feel great but recently a production colleague and friend of mine also got a job she had been looking real hard for - I love what she posted on Facebook about getting the job - just about everything she said applies to me and I could not have said it any better Shana. Here is her post:

Watching Michelle Jenneke pre-race dance has reminded me of the pure joy in athletics and of the joy that life's opportunities can bring. I may or may not physically break into a dance just before dinner or a morning workout but I will in my head. I love how Michelle effortlessly and with total joy prepares for her race, then is in the zone as she runs and right when it is over she breaks out into a big smile. #inspired #run Great old video of Cronkite - Interesting to see exactly what people thought of the future in 1967. Watching Walter Cronkite giving a tour of what a home office might look like in the 21st century. It's pretty right on, a lot of elements of current day stuff is there... I wonder what home office will be like next century? |
