What Happens when Mom & Dad pick your spouse?

I got the chance last summer to work on a very unusual and interesting show called "Married by Mom & Dad" for TLC & Think Factory. For about a month in the sweltering July heat of Charleston South Carolina I produced and directed the Christina Rollyson's story along with Executive Producer Katie Mohs & Associate Producer Kevin Chagon. Christina and her family are truly amazing people and I was very lucky to get to know them and work with them.

Here is a clip from the show and an article from PEOPLE -TV WATCH Aaron Couch @AaronCouch

Introducing your significant other to your parents can be stressful enough – but what happens when that process is turned on its head? Ex-Michigan State football player Brett is finding that out firsthand in an exclusive sneak peek at TLC's new series Married by Mom and Dad, which allows parents to chose a spouse for their children. He's got to impress the parents of Christina Rollyson, a West Virginia native who recently started her own travel agency. Christina's father Derald is impressed that Brett played football and has confidence, but her mother Becky wonders why the potential husband hasn't settled down yet.

"We're serious about this, and we're looking for the exact, right person for Christina," Becky tells him, noting that Brett said he wanted to get married since he was 22. "Obviously you're a lot older now, so what happened?"

Brett explains that school, including pursuing a PhD, as well as business pursuits had prevented him from giving his all to a relationship, but he's ready to settle down now that he has the means to provide for a family.

Christina's parents show Brett a picture of their daughter, and he compliments her smile and calls her a "very pretty girl."

Then the big question, from Dad: "Are you ready to go to the altar with that girl you just saw?"
